WhatsApp is introducing a new feature called “Flash Calls”. WhatsApp Flash Calls is currently available in beta version for the Android 2.21.11.7 update.
WhatsApp Flash Calls will allow users to quickly log in and get verified via an automatic verification over a call.
How does automatic verification method work?
WhatsApp will call your phone number using this automatic verification method, and then automatically end the call. Then the new platform will verify the last phone number in your mobile’s log. If it is equal to the number , then the system gives you a 6-digit code.
Each time, the phone number will be different. This ensures a safe experience while verifying your account. However, WhatsApp will need your permission to make and manage calls apart from accessing them from your your phone’s log during this process.

No worries, because the call history won’t be used by WhatsApp for any other purposes.
The feature is optional and the users have the choice to verify themselves using the existing methods.
Not for Apple Phones
An important note is that the new feature will not be for iOS smartphone users. The reason for not getting the feature for Apple’s iOS is that it doesn’t offer any public API to read the call history.
New voice-message playback speeds
WhatsApp has also introduced a new feature that allows users to choose between multiple playback speeds while playing an audio file.
This new options will allow to listen longer voice messages very easily. This can also be used to skip through large messages and to get to a particular point. This helps to make the most of long voice messages short, without going through the entire message or without skipping on any details.
The latest WhatsApp update is available for both the Android as well as iOS users. There are 2 new playback speeds offered in the feature. This will take the total to 3 speeds overall. These include 1X, the default with original playback speed and the new ones 1.5X and 2X with 50% or 100% faster file play speeds.
