The mighty Aussies have won their 6th ODI World Cup title in stunning fashion against India. Chasing 241 to win, the Aussies won the ICC World Cup 2023.
ICC World Cup 2023 Finals between India and Australia was played in the World’s biggest Cricket Ground at Ahmedabad.
Winning the toss, Australia chose to bowl first. India started well, though it lost early wickets as Rohit Sharma scored offensively. But after the fall of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul were the only batsmen who tried to score runs and at last, were able to reach a total of 240 in the end.
Australia looked dominant from the start of the match. With ball and bat, Australia were in command. India struggled in batting as well as in fielding. India could not showcase the performance as it showed throughout the ICC World Cup 2023 tournament.
Australia created history by winning the title most number of times by any country. Australia won yet another World Cup trophy – having previously tasted success in 1987, 1999, 2003, 2007, and 2015 – they have won six World Cup titles.
India lost wickets at regular intervals which helped Australia to steer win easily. The win has silenced around 1.3 lakh people on the ground watching the match live apart from those watching through various mediums.
Travis Head’s magnificent innings of 137 runs from 120 balls played a key role in India’s defeat.
