Vicious killing of an elephant that is pregnant has made the entire mankind bow their heads with mortification. The incident took place in Kerala.

The incident came into limelight after a forest official, Mohan Krishnan posted the picture of the dead elephant in his Facebook account. He was a member of the Rapid Response Team to rescue the elephant.

After knowing the details about the death of the elephant, people with kind hearts have demanded strict action against such ruthless persons. The forest officials have expressed the view that the elephant might have come to the valley in search of food.

As it is pregnant, it has blindly believed the vicious humans and accepted a pineapple filled with crackers and explosives. In the process of consuming that cracker filled pineapple, it has faced such a ruthless kind of killing. After exploding, in order to get some relief for the blood flowing mouth, it might have settled in the river and left the soul. The death of the elephant in a standing position in the river is a heart-touching sadness for any human with humanity.

As per the details mentioned in the post, the elephant has suffered from mouth and tongue injuries. After the postmortem, the facts were more heart drowning. The elephant has suffered from ripped mouth and tongue for almost 20 days. It is expected to give birth in 18-20 months when it died. The death scene has really moved many hearts. It died in the Attappadi river in standing position.

Sensing the anger among the animal lovers, Kerala Cheif Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has ordered an inquiry and also promised strict action against the culprits. As per the wildlife protection act – capturing, trapping, poisoning, or baiting of any wild animal or even attempting to do so carry a fine of up to ₹25,000 or a jail term of up to seven years, or both.

In the wake of this incident, another news of a female elephant death in April month has raised many doubts among the animal lovers.
