Though the deaths are minimal at this stage, the future is alarming.

Many state governments have directed the employees to work from home and have announced shut down of the activities that include mass gatherings.

Famous pilgrimages have also been shut due to the threat of Coronavirus. Commercial and Political activities have been minimized. Mumbai – the financial capital remains closed till 31st March 2020.

All the states were put on high alert by the Union Health Ministry for combating any kind of situation that may arise due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

India has announced a travelling ban in order to stop the pandemic from entering into the country and more worsening the situation. On 22nd of March, 2020, India has announced a ‘Janatha Curfew’ in order to halt the spread of the pandemic. During the day starting from 00.00 hrs till 10.00 P.M, no trains will run on tracks so that the commuters remain inside their houses. Indian Railways has announced that around 3,700 services have been suspended for the day. Local Metro Trains also remain shut on the day so that even the local commuters will be forced to stay at home.

Health Ministery has announced that Maharashtra tops the table of most infected persons whereas Kerala stands second.

After reviewing the situation. The central government has imposed a curfew and declared lockdown for the entire country for 21 more days. Modi has expressed great concern for the pandemic spread and warned that if this step is not taken now in India, then we may face the situation that of Italy.
