Farewell To Football Legend Maradona – RIP

Diego Maradona died from a heart attack in his sleep on Wednesday at the age of 60. He was a real hero in Argentinian football history.

To pay the last respects to the football legend Maradona, the body will be kept at the Argentian Casa Rosada presidential palace in Buenos Aire and 3-day mourning has been declared by the president Alberto Fernandez. He said –

You took us to the top of the world. You made us immensely happy. You were the greatest of all, the leader tweeted. Thanks for having existed, Diego. We will miss you for a lifetime.

Grieving fans let off flares at the Argentinos Juniors stadium where Maradona began his professional career in the 1970s. Also, the Public prosecutor John Broyad said –

Diego Armando Maradona died around 12pm local time. The forensic police began their work at 4pm.

No signs of any criminality or violence have been detected. The autopsy is being carried out to determine beyond any doubt the cause of death but we can say at this stage that everything is pointing to natural causes.

Maradona led the Argentina football team to World Cup glory in 1986. Maradona, who turned 60 on October 30, 2020, has 5 children.

Maradona isolated at his home in Argentina after one of his bodyguards fell ill with a fever and loss of taste and smell. Maradona has a history of poor health-related to drug and alcohol abuse and his weight. In 2004, he was treated in hospital for severe heart and respiratory problems linked to his drug abuse. He has suffered two heart attacks, and also contracted hepatitis.

He has also undergone two gastric bypass operations to control his weight and received treatment for alcohol abuse. In January 2020, underwent surgery to stem bleeding in his stomach, and in July he underwent a knee operation. Maradona had recently been in the hospital for surgery after suffering a bleed on the brain.
