The new-generation Honda City 2020 has been launched in India with a 5-star safety rating and the price ranges between ₹.10.89 lakh to ₹.14.64 lakh.
The launch was delayed due to countrywide lockdown amid Coronavirus pandemic. Honda City 2020 is the third vehicle from the Japanese manufacturer with BS-VI engine. Earlier Honda WR-V and Honda Civic were launched in India with BS6 engines. This sedan is believed to be a competitor to Maruti Suzuki’s Ciaz, Hyundai’s Verna, Volkswagen’s Vento, Toyota’s Yaris and Skoda’s Rapid.

The new 2020 Honda City comes with three models and in 3 variants. The 1.5-Litre Petrol MT engine and 1.5-Litre Diesel MT engine models are lengthy when compared to its precedents.
Major differences between old and new versions of Honda City
The new length and width stand at 4,549 mm and 1,748 mm respectively. But the height of the car has been decreased by 6 mm with a new height of 1489 mm from ground level. The wheelbase remains unchanged at 2600 mm.
The major difference lies in safety features. This sedan car has a 5-star rating in ASEAN NCAP safety tests. The engine options also got upgraded in the new Honda City 2020 model. The look is also different when compared to its old version. However, the company is selling both old and new generation cars side by side. Exteriorly the car gets a heavy design with highlighted profile, a thick chrome strip on the front flanked by 9-LED headlights. Sharp body lines are stretched through the length of the body.

Even the tail lamps are reworked to enable a brand new look that matches the front appearance with the backside of the car.
Interiors have also got a new look with cushioning that is thrice more than the 4th generation cars. An upgraded TFT LCD panel and infotainment unit look amazing. Amazon’s Alexa is an inbuilt feature now. The car also offers a first-in-segment walk-away auto lock convenience.
