ICC Champions Trophy 2025: India Beat Bangladesh By 6 Wickets

Match 2 of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 played between India and Bangladesh in the Dubai International Stadium at Dubai resulted in India’s favour. India started off the tournament with a comfortable win as Bangladesh was beaten up by 6 wickets.

After winning the toss, Bangladesh decided to bat first. But the decision prove to be wrong as the Bangladeshi batsmen did not start off on a good note. Half of the Bangladeshi batsmen were out for a duck. opening batsman Soumya Sarkar, Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, Wicket Keeper Batsman Mushfiqur Rahim, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Mustafizur Rahman listed the scoreboard with no score.

Tawhid Hridoy scored a ton while Jaker Ali scored 68 runs. Apart from these batsmen no other Bangladeshi batsmen could face Indian bowlers strongly and score runs. Bangladesh lost wickets regularly. In the very 1st over Bangladesh were 1/1. In the 2nd over, 2/2 was the score. In the 7th over, they were 27/3.  In the 9th over, they were 36/5.  At this stage Jaker Ali and Tawhid stablized the innings and took the score till 180 runs in the 43 rd over. Again wickets fell at regular intervals and the final score stood at 228 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 49.4 overs.

Indian bowler Mohammad Shami took 53/5, Harshit Rana 31/3, Axar Patel 43/2 were the key bowling performances that made Bangladesh to stumble and score low.

India started the chase with a target of 229 runs. Opener Shubman Gill 101 runs took India to victory and was awarded Player of the match. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul scored 41 runs each. India chased the target in 46.3 overs by losing 4 wickets.

Bangladesh bowlers Rishad Hossain took 2 wickets while Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman claimed 1 wicket each.

In Group 2 of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Afghanistan will take on South Africa today at National Stadium, Karachi.
