After months-long tensions between two nuclear nations – India and China have come to an understanding and agreed to disengage armed forces at LAC.
Today, Indian National Security Advisor (NSA) and Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi held talks for about 2 hours and agreed to de-escalate the tensions along the border regions of Galwan valley, Pangong Tso, and Depsang plain.
Earlier Chinese troops violated the law and entered the Indian territory and created a mess by killing 20 Indian soldiers. The talks between the two leaders were held on Sunday and today a joint statement was issued regarding this.

Also, the two sides agreed to continue the discussions by setting up an official level committee by name Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination (WMCC). Today both the leaders issued press statements.
The Indian side statement –
they agreed that it was necessary to ensure at the earliest complete disengagement of the troops along the LAC and de-esescalation from India-China border areas for full restoration of peace and tranquillity.
strictly respect and observe the line of actual control and not to take any unilateral action to alter the status quo.
Whereas the Chinese side said –
hold non-stop meetings on the China-India Border Affairs Consultation and Coordination Working Mechanism, and constantly improve and strengthen confidence-building measures in the building measures in the border area.
to ensure full and enduring restoration of peace and tranquillity in the India-China border areas in accordance with the bilateral agreements and protocols.
Chinese foreign ministry stated that
The right and wrong of what recently happened at the Galwan Valley in the western sector of the China-India boundary is very clear. China will continue firmly safeguarding our terrtorial sovereignty as well as peace and tranquility in the in the border areas.
At last, India and China have agreed to de-escalate the troops in a phased and step-wise manner, thus putting a solution to the dispute for now. After three rounds of talks at military commanders level and talks between Indian foreign minister S. Jaishankar and Wang Yi on June 17, 2020, yielded peaceful result for the time being.
