Addressing the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has thanked the nation for supporting the lockdown and appreciated the citizens for following the rules during the lockdown period.

Modi also thanked the State Governments for their support during the crisis. He also mentioned that though there is a huge financial collapse due to the lockdown, the step is being taken to save people rather than the economy.

Mentioned about the poor, he assured that maximum efforts are being taken to help them for their survival. Farmers also being taken into consideration as this is the crop time for them.

Above all these, the Central government is taking all the precautionary measures so that the spread rate, as well as the death ratio, can be confined in the country. Modi also cautioned that from today, the lockdown rules will be more strict and the people will not be allowed to roam on roads without a proper reason. All the transportations like Indian Railways and Indian Airlines will remain suspended till the lockdown period. This will enhance commuters stoppage.

It is already known that the union government has announced the implementation of the Disaster Management Act throughout the country. If keenly observed, the Central Government seems to be more firm on stopping the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic rather than curing. Modi also announced that the hospitals to treat the pandemic is ready for the people to serve across the country.

The positive cases, as well as the deaths, are raising in India day by day, in spite of taking strict measures like social distancing. So, the lockdown period extension seems to be the only solution for containing the spread of the COVID-19 deadly disease.
