Making the speculations real, Israel has launched preemptive strikes against Iran naming the operation as “Rising Lion”. This attack has further escalated the tensions between the two countries.
Israel Prime minister Netanyahu declared the operation amid at eliminating threat from Iran. Israel targeted Iran’s nuclear and military sites resulting in casualties including nuclear personnel and military. Apart from Hossein’s death, Iran’s military chief, Mohammad Bagheri and several high-ranked military officials and prominent nuclear scientists were killed.
One of the major set back for the Iran in Israel’s attack is the killing of Hossein Salami, the Iran Revolutionary Guards chief. One of the Iran’s media published the news as –

To remember, IRGC maintains significant influence within Iran’s theocratic structure and also hold authority over Iran’s ballistic missile capabilities.

Further, Israel Defence minister Katz warned Iran of potential missile and drone attacks in the coming days. Israel also aims itself to attack Iran till the nuclear threat gets removed.
Air-raid sirens rang out in Israel as a preventative measure.
The International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors issued its first censure against Iran in the past 20 years on 12.06.2025.
