Sneak peek of the story :
Back in the 1980s in the city of Gotham, there was an ongoing war of classes. Arthur Fleck is a lonely guy who lives in a decrepit Gothal apartment with his ailing mother. He opts to become a clown where he must have a smirk makeup and flipped out shoes spinning an advertising banner outside a store where he is ridiculed, beaten up. In short, he is stuck in the hands of the system that refuses to recognize him. After an unbearable point of Humiliation, he gets hold of a gun and it leads to an ending with a powerful climax.
Highlights :
- The performance of Phoenix which is mesmerizing and definitely merits an Oscar.
- Mournful Background score by Hildur Guðnadóttir that gels well with the story.
- Lively Direction and Cinematography by Todd Phillips, Lawrence Sher.
Play Downs :
- Slow Narration of the story throughout.
- Unsettling violence.

Conclusion :
The story is strong both in its making as well as the storytelling. This film is a commentary on the social side related to the classes-divide and a danger sign to call out mental illness. Will violence be the solution to this kind of difference in classes? The answer is left to each individual and their personal opinions.
I would give a 3.5 rating to this movie and it is worth watching once.
