Nobel Prize In Physics 2020 Awarded

The second phase of Nobel Prize 2020 awarding has been announced for Physics. Three scientists were named as the winners – Roger Penrose, Reinhard Genzel and Andrea Ghez.

Roger Penrose, Reinhard Genzel and Andrea Ghez were awarded the 2020 Nobel Prize In Physics. The award was bagged by the trio for their discoveries related to Black Hole and a supermassive compact object at the centre of our Galaxy.

Roger Penrose suggested that “black hole formation is a robust prediction of the general theory of relativity.”

Reinhard Genzel and Andrea Ghez discovered that “there exists a supermassive compact object at the centre of our Galaxy”.

The Nobel Prize committee said that

The three laureates share this year’s Nobel Prize in Physics for their discoveries about one of the most exotic phenomena in the universe, the black hole,

The Nobel Prize committee tweeted

Roger Penrose also invented ingenious mathematical methods to explore Albert Einstein’s general theory of relativity. Penrose showed that the theory leads to the formation of black holes, those monsters in time and space that capture everything that captures everything that enters them.
