Putin & Biden Shake Hands In Geneva Summit 2021

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Joe Biden are set to meet for up to 5 hours In Geneva Summit 2021.

On Wednesday, at La Grange villa, Putin and Biden shook hands after standing with their host, Swiss President Guy Parmelin. The two men greeted each other. The two leaders  sat in the plush villa’s renowned library, on either side of a globe and with their respective flags behind them, exchanged a few cordial remarks before they discuss contentious issues like cyber-attacks, election meddling and rights abuses etc.

Biden, who not only took the initiative for the summit itself but also for that first handshake, smiled and said:

It is always better to meet face to face.

Putin thanked Biden and said:

for your initiative to meet today.

The US and Russian relations have a lot of issues accumulated that require the highest-level meeting,

I hope that our meeting will be productive.

Parmelin told the duo – 

an honour and a pleasure for Switzerland to host you here for this summit, and in accordance with its tradition of good offices, promote dialogue and mutual understanding.

I wish you both presidents a fruitful dialogue in the interests of your two countries and the world.

For the past few days, news regarding the meeting of the two leaders were in headlines. Also, there were some controversial statements by the two leaders that hiped their meeting. Also, many political analysts have commented that there is a need for the leaders to meet and discuss before things become more worse not only related to their countries but also for the entire world.
