Russia Continues Largest Drone Strikes On Ukraine

Russia as expected has started its retaliation on a large scale. Russia’s new drone strikes hit Kyiv and southern part of Odesa regions. From Monday, Russia intensified drone attacks from Monday as a part of retaliation to Ukraine’s operation – spider web.

Head of Kyiv’s military administration has admitted that Russian drone attack targeted several districts of the Timur Tkachenko city. Governor of the broader Odesa region said drone attack targeted an emergency medical building and a maternity ward in the southern port of Odesa.

Russia launched 479 drones apart from drones, 20 missiles of various types were fired at different parts of Ukraine.

It is sad that both warring sides deny targetting civilians and residential areas. But in reality that most affected areas and persons are the civilians.

Russian drones damaged few military airfields in the west of the Ukraine. Russia also claimed that its air defence systems destroyed 76 Ukrainian drones on Monday alone. Russia announced that it has taken control over Ukraine’s east-central region of Dnipropetrovsk.

Diplomacy

Russia and Ukraine on Monday carried out an exchange of prisoners of war aged under 25. The exchange followed talks between the sides earlier this month in Istanbul.

Russia’s civil aviation authority announced temporarily suspensio of flights at all four major airports serving Moscow.

According to the United Nations, the barrages have killed more than 12,000 Ukrainian civilians.
