Sony Corporation has announced the launch of Sony Alpha 7S III Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera and the sale will go on from Sep 24, 2020.
The Japanese multinational conglomerate has launched the Sony Alpha 7S III Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera With Fast Hybrid AF and is available for pre-booking in North America.
Sony Alpha 7S III has a new Bionz XR image processor and also it brings an improved ISO range and an articulating touch screen.
The camera comes with a 12.1-megapixel back-illuminated full-frame Exmor R CMOS image sensor. The ISO range has been improved 40 to 4,09,600 range. Previous models range of the series was 50 to 4,09,600.
This can now record 4K video quality videos at 120p with 10-bit 4:2:2 colour depth. Adding to it, 4K 60p 16-bit RAW video HDMI output capability has been introduced for the first time in the Alpha series.
This can take still images up to 10fps for more than 1,000 consecutive uncompressed RAW images.
Also, the newly launched CFExpress Type A memory cards would support 2 of them which supports data transfer speeds which is 1.7 times faster than that of normal SD cards. The can read speeds up to 700MBps and write at a speed of 800MBps. CFExpress Type A memory cards are available in 80GB and 160GB capacities.
The Sony Alpha 7S III uses a Fast Hybrid AF (auto-focus) feature that combines phase-detection 759 points sensors that cover 92% of the image sensor along with and contrast-detection. This will allow the camera to track subjects faster over a wide area.
The Sony Alpha 7S III camera features 5-axis optical in-body image stabilisation which is an additional Active Mode for a more advanced feature for handheld movie shooting.
World’s brightest and largest 9.44 million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder is fitted in the camera. The menu system on the full-frame has been redesigned so that it works with the touch screen that can articulate.
Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi, USB tethering, and a USB Type-C connector that supports SuperSpeed USB 5GBps data transfer.
