On Friday a delegation of Taliban officials in Moscow has declared that they control 85 per cent of the Afganistan districts now.
The key borders along Iran and China are also under the Taliban’s control now. However, the claim has to be verified which is a difficult task in the present situation. Meanwhile, the government has not accepted the claim as there is no situation to verify independently.

Out of the 398 districts, the Taliban’s claim that they have seized 250 districts. Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid talking about the border town of Islam Qala claimed: “under our full control”. But the government officials in Kabul stated that a fightback was underway.

And Afganistan President Ashraf Ghani said –

Interestingly, this week more than 1,000 Afghan troops fled into Tajikistan in the face of a Taliban onslaught. Also, thousands of people were fleeing from Qala-i-Naw in northwest Badghis province.
