At least 17 people got killed after a ballistic missile hit a petrol station in the Rawdha neighbourhood of the Yemen city of Marib.
Firstly a ballistic missile hit a petrol station and following it, the Houthis launched an explosive-laden drone which destroyed 2 ambulances that had rushed to the area.
The attack comes at a time when an Omani delegation has arrived for peace talks between Yemeni government and Houthi rebels.
Yemen government blamed Houthi rebels for these attacks. Information Minister Moammar al-Eryani said –
the attack killed 17 people, including a five-year-old girl and wounded at least five others and all casualties were civilians.
Moammar al-Eryani has also called on the UN and the US to condemn the attack. He further stated that such attacks would amount to a war crime.
The Houthi rebels were attempting to capture Marib since February so that they can control over the northern part of Yemen completely.

Mohammed Abdul-Salam, chief Houthi negotiator arrived for talks with Houthi leaders to meet Omani delegation in Sanaa.
Abdul-Salam stated –
We arrived in Sanaa accompanied with a delegation from the Omani Sultanate office in an attempt to prompt the process of settling the humanitarian crisis, as well as the peace process as it serves the nation’s interest and the neighbouring countries interests,
However, US special envoy for Yemen, Tim Lenderking accused the Houthis of failing to try to reach an urgently needed ceasefire.
He toured Saudi Arabia, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Middle East diplomatic mission on Yemen.
In the past, US imposed sanctions on 2 Houthi military leaders, On the other hand, US envoy accused Iran giving Houthis lethel and significant support.
Since 2014, Yemen is embroiled in a civil war between Iran-backed Houthis and Saudi-led coalition supporting the government forces that killed more than 130,000 people.
Analysts describe the Yemen civil war as the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.
