The final match and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 title decider between Pakistan and England is played at Australia’s Melbourne Cricket Ground.
England won the toss and opted to bowl first. At Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) Pakistan batted first. But the Pakistan batsmen did not show much impact while batting. Masood is the only batsman who scored 38 runs apart from Captain Babar Azam’s 32 runs.
No other batsman scored an innings that would have challenged England’s batsmen. Pakistan in the allotted 20 overs managed to score only 137 runs by losing 8 wickets. English bowler Sam Curran took 3 wickets for just 12 runs in his 4 overs quota. Adil Rashid and Chris Jordan took 2 wickets each in their allotted 4 overs. Stokes claimed 1 wicket.
Pakistan defeated New Zealand in the T20 World Cup 2022 first semi-finals while England defeated India in the second T20 World Cup 2022 semi-finals quite comfortably. But Pakistan failed to show the same performance in the T20 World Cup final match against England.
England’s bowling started with a “No ball” following a “Wide ball”. This shows the amount of pressure that the team is facing. But no major swing by the Pakistani batsmen took place in this over. In the first over Pakistan got 8 runs. The 2nd over too started off with a “Wide ball”. But in the 5th over, Sam Curran claimed the 1st wicket and Pakistan lost Rizwan for 15 runs from 14 balls.

The 12th over was astonishing over from England. It was a maiden wicket over from Adil Rashid. Pakistan lost wickets regularly in the 13th over, 17th over, 18th over, 19th over and 20th Over.
As a result, Pakistan could post only 137 runs in front of England.
England’s batting also started in a shaky manner. In 1st over itself, England lost its opener, Hales. England was 7/1 at the end of 1st over. But the 2nd over was blissful over for England. Pakistan gave away 14 runs in this over. But Pakistan pulled back England again in the 4th over by claiming Philip Salt’s wicket. England’s score was 32/2 at the end of the 4th over. Again in the 6th over, Pakistan got rid of Buttler’s wicket. England was 49/3 at the end of the 6th over. England managed 77/3 at the reach of the 10th over.
