ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: India Winning Streak Continues

India thrashed England by 100 runs on Sunday in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, Match No.29. After winning the toss. England chose to bowl first. India struggled to get a good start from its top batsmen. Virat Kohli was out for Duck.

Indian captain Raohit Sharma took the innings to a respectable total of 229 runs in the stipulated 50 overs. He was the highest scorer for India with 87 runs. Surya Kumar Yadav fell short of 1 run of his half-century as he got out at 49 runs. KL Rahul scored a decent 39 runs while India reached its limit of 50 overs.

England bowlers – David Willey claimed highest 3 wickets, while Chris Woakes and Adil Rashid took 2 wickets each. Mark Wood claimed a wicket.

Chasing a low total of 230 runs to win, England initially started off well. But the openers, Jonny Baristow and Dawid Malan could not continue the tempo as they got out for 14 runs and 16 runs respectively.

Star batsman Joe Root was out for duck. Liam Livingstone was the highest scorer from England batting squad wit 27 runs. At one stage England seemed difficult in reaching 100 mark target as it lost 8 wickets. But the lower order batsmen David Willey and Adil Rashid pushed the score card to 129 runs.
