South Korea says North Korea has fired several suspected short-range cruise missiles from Munchon towards the Sea of Japan on Tuesday.
The latest test firings have come in a time when North Korea is preparing itself to celebrate the 108th birth anniversary of its late leader Kim Il Sung. He is the founder of nuclear-armed North marks and also the grandfather of present leader Kim Jong Un.
One more aspect that has to be observed is that this is also the time when South Korea is due to hold its Parliamentary elections just in 2 days from today.
Moreover, the entire World is focused on handling COVID-19 pandemic. Till date, North Korea has been safe from the COVID-19 outbreak.

As per some of the intelligence reports, North Korea has ICBMs (Inter-Continental Ballistic Missiles) which are capable of reaching the entire US. Also, it has missiles that can travel 200 kilometers or 120 miles, surface-to-ship cruise missiles, cruise missiles that can travel at low altitudes and ballistic missiles which climb high above the Earth, often into space and hit their targets at high speed.
To remember, the talks between Pyongyang (North Korea) and Washington (US) broke up in February 2019 during the Hanoi summit is a major set back for the peace process in the region.
Japan and South Korea are among the countries that have an immediate threat from North Korea. Though the United States too has a threat from North Korea, it has been never taken on a serious note.
Both South Korea and US intelligence sources have said that they are noticing all the developments related to the North Korean missile tests. In the past few months, North Korea has conducted several tests.
