The Tata Safari and Tata Harrier facelifts are all set to be launched tomorrow. One of the leading car manufacturers in India, TATA Motors has revealed all the specifications and features of these two SUVs.
Both Tata Safari and Tata Harrier models will have no change in engine wise as they are presently available in 2-litre diesel engine. Both the models have manual as well as automatic transmission options for drive. Then what’s new? Here’s a quick rundown of what’s new in these SUVs:
- The Safari and Harrier duo has received its first thorough midlife refresh.
- Exteriors are updated with revised LED lighting setup and new bumper designs.
- Their cabins gets a new touch-based climate control panel and a redesigned dashboard.
- Updated features include a 12.3″ touchscreen system, dual-zone AC and 7 airbags.
- Both SUVs are likely to command a premium hike in their prices upto 1 lakh compared to the existing models.
Updated Exterior for Both the SUVs – Tata Safari and Tata Harrier
Changes like redesigned grille, new LED headlights, LED taillight setup, sharper indicating lights will give a fresh look for both the SUVs. a long LED DRL strip at the front and sport ‘Safari’ badge and ‘Harrier’ badge with fresh lettering on the front doors. Both these are offered in alloy wheels ranging from 17-inches to 19-inches. Both come with chunky skid plates.
Tata Safari and Tata Harrier – Interiors
The cabin inside now has a layered dashboard design with new central Ac vents, touch-based climate control panel and various inserts can be colour co-ordinated according to the exterior base and the variant chosen. Both SUV models will feature a 4-spoke steering wheel with a lit ‘Tata’ logo.
Tata Safari and Tata Harrier – Enhanced features
The new features include a 12.3″ touchscreen system along with 10.25″ digital driver’s display, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, ambient inside lighting, electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats (middle-row ventilation in the 6-seater Tata Safari), wireless mobile phone charging.
Coming to the safety features – both Tata Safari and Tata Harrier consists of 7 airbags (6 as standard), 360-degree camera, ISOFIX child seat mounts, ESP (Electronic Stability Programme), Hill-Hold assist, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) and adaptive and Cruise control system, Forward collision Warning system and Blind-Spot Monitoring System.
Tata Safari and Tata Harrier – Engine Specifications
Both the Safari and Harrier facelifts will be available with a 2-litre diesel engine (170PS/350Nm), with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.
Tata Safari Variants and Price
Tata Safari SUV is priced with a revised variant lineup, broadly divided into 4 main trims -Smart, Pure, Adventure and Accomplished. Existing Safari ranges from ₹.15.85 lakh to ₹.25.21 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) while the new models will be ₹.1 lakh more than the existing ones.
Tata Harrier Variants and Price
Tata Harrier SUV is priced with a revised variant lineup, broadly divided into 4 main trims -Smart, Pure, Adventure and Fearless. Existing Safari ranges from ₹.15.20 lakh to ₹.24.27 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) while the new models will be ₹.1 lakh more than the existing ones.
Competitors
Tata Safari will still take on the 3-row SUVs like Mahindra XUV 700, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar.
Tata Harrier will continue to compete with the Mahindra XUV 700, MG Hector, Higher-spec Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos variants.
