Because of the US military presence in the Middle East using these countries as its military bases in the Middle East for decade, Iran decided to attack these 8 permanent bases – Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, the UAE and Saudi Arabia serve as critical hubs for US air and naval operations, regional logistics, intelligence gathering and force projection.
At least 19 locations in the region are used by the US as its broad network of military sites, both permanent and temporary.
there are about 40,000 to 50,000 US soldiers in the Middle East stationed in both large, permanent bases and smaller forward sites.
