German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz has launched the AMG A45S hatchback in India with the world’s most powerful 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine.

The Mercedes-AMG A45 S is said to be the most powerful luxury hatchback in India. Mercedes-Benz AMG A45 S hatchback has got an aggressive design with a sporty AMG body kit featuring an aggressive front bumper grille and has vertical Panamericana grille slats and the AMG badging, wider air intakes, LED DRLs, flared wheel arches, side skirtings, 19-inch alloy wheels, quad-tip exhaust pipes, rear diffuser, a large spoiler, and a rear diffuser. The front as well as quad exhausts and a roof spoiler at the back add a new look to the vehicle.

Coming to the infotainment part, a dual-screen setup with a flat-bottom AMG-Performance steering wheel. The car gets Nappa leather and Dinamica microfibre upholstery with yellow stitching that adds a sporty touch.
One of the attractive features is that the AMG Torque Control will distribute the power between the left and right rear wheel in the rear differential. AMG suspension and an AMG Drift Mode enables the car to pull off slides with ease.

Powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, Mercedes-Benz AMG A45S churns out 416 BHP @ 6,750 rpm and 500 Nm @ 5,000-5,250 rpm. This makes the hatchback the most potent 4-pot engine in the world. The engine is mated with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Mercedes claim that the AMG A45S will reach 0-100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. The top speed is 270 km/h.
There are 6 driving modes – Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Slippery, Individual and Race.
The car rides on 19-inch alloy wheels supported by an all-wheel-drive system.
