The Chinese embassy in Kazakhstan has issued a warning to its citizens living there, of a deadly ‘unknown pneumonia’ which killed 1,772 people.
According to some of the reports, the Kazakhstan government has imposed a lockdown in some parts of the country because of COVID-19. But the spike in pneumonia deaths have added more threat to the citizens there, In June months alone there are about 628 deaths as per the official figures stated due to pneumonia.
China which has bitter relations with Kazakhstan has warned its citizens living there about unnamed pneumonia. Further, the Chinese media and the embassy have hiped the deaths and marked pneumonia as more deadly than COVID-19 / Coronavirus. Chinese embassy issued a statement saying
The death rate of this disease is much higher than the novel coronavirus. The country’s health departments are conducting comparative research into the pneumonia virus, but have yet to identify the virus,
Further, in its official website, the Chinese embassy said
The Chinese embassy in Kazakhstan reminds Chinese nationals here to be aware of the situation and step up a prevention to lower the infection risks,
Health care department chief, Saule Kisikova in the Kazakhstan capital, Nur-Sultan has stated that
Some 300 people diagnosed with pneumonia are being hospitalised every day,
However, the World Health Organization (WHO) has not warned of such a dangerous situation about no-named pneumonia. Many think the Chinese may be trying to shift the focus from COVID-19 so that the world pressure might be turned away from it.
Currently, China is facing immense pressure from countries like the USA related to the COVID-19. Trump administration has also charged China of innovating the virus wantedly by humans targetting the U.S. Though China has turned off the allegations by saying baseless, many countries in the world believe that China has hidden the facts about the pandemic and not revealed to rest of the world.
