India’s first Fully-Electric vehicle MG ZS EV launched

Much awaited MG ZS EV Electric SUV makes its debut in India. This is the second model from Morris Garages (MG) that will be available in the Indian Automobile market by the year 2020.

India’s first Fully-Electric vehicle MG ZS EV was launched on Dec 5, 2019. MG Motor India has revealed the specifications of the MG ZS EV car today.

MG ZS EV is a completely knocked-down (CKD) unit for the Indian market. It is fitted with a battery capacity of 44.5 kWh that can run up to 300 KMs with a single charge. The liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery can be charged up to 80% within just 40 mins of charging. The company is providing a 50 KW DC Charger. However, the full charge time is around 6 to 8 hours.

The 5-seater electric SUV is 4314 long and has an engine that can draw 44.5 KwH power which can catch a speed of 0-100 kph in 8.5 seconds.

Also, MG ZS EV comes with an advanced and updated Hector’s infotainment system named as iSmart EV 2.0. The vehicle comes with an embedded SIM card for internet connectivity which enables to connect Wi-Fi network or Mobile’s Hotspot.

The updated infotainment system has a new Graphic Interface (GI), real-time Maps to locate charging stations provided by TomTom, Gaana App for Indian Music lovers, and weather update App by AccuWeather.

One of the special features of the MG ZS EV SUV is that it shows the vehicle owner about the carbon-dioxide that is saved in real-time. The SUV’s cabin is equipped with an inbuilt PM 2.5 air filter.

Initially, this new electric vehicle from Mg will be available in the top 5 metro cities of India – New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad. However, the company is selling only the ZS EV model in India whereas the ZS model has other variants that are sold in other global markets.

MG ZS EV is competent to Hyundai’s Kona EV in the Indian automobile market.
