India Clinch the T20I series 2-1 after beating Bangladesh

India bounced back after losing the first T20I against Bangladesh and clinch the series 2-1. India outplayed Bangladesh for 144 runs in the final match of the series.

India won the 3rd T20I played at VCA Stadium. India beat Bangladesh by 20 runs to clinch the Paytm T20I series 2-1. Deepak Chahar won the Man of the Match.

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field first. India posted a total of 174 runs in the allotted 20 overs by losing 4 wickets. Chasing the total Bangladesh scored only 144 runs.

Batting first, India scored a competitive score of 174 runs. Though both the openers Rohit Sharma (2 runs) and Shikhar Dhawan (19 runs) couldn’t shine in this match, other batsmen K L Rahul (52 runs off 35 balls) and Shreyas Iyer (62 runs off 33 runs) helped India post a challenging total. In the end, Manish Pandey scored 22 runs off 13 balls.

Bangladesh Bowlers Shafiul Islam (2/32), Soumya Sarkar (2/29) and Al-Amin Hossain (1/22) were only successful bowlers.

Chasing a total of 175 runs to win, Bangladesh openers failed to give a good start for the team. But Mohammad Naim (81 runs off 48 balls) and Mohammad Mithun (27 runs off 29 balls) gave some hope for the Bangladeshis winning the match. Apart from these two batsmen, no other batsmen at least scored a double digit number of runs.

But Indian bowler Deepak Chahar’s tremendous spell of 6 wickets for just 7 runs in just 3.2 overs spoiled Bangladesh’s chances of winning the match. For his magic spell of 6/7 earned him Man of the Match as well as Man of the Series. Shivam Dube also bowled a good spell of 3/30 which helped India for bagging an easy win. Yuzvendra Chahai also bagged a wicket.

India and Bangladesh will play 2 match Test Series which starts on November 22, 2019. It is the first Day/Night match in Kolkata. It will be played with Pink ball only.
